Elizabeth pulls into her drive way just as the sky opened up and started to rain. She gets out of her car and runs up the steps to her door and shakes the rain off her. Closing the door behind her as she enters the house she locks it. She proceeds to walk through her living room to the kitchen and lay her briefcase and purse on the table.

She turns and goes back through so she can get to the stairs and go up to her room to change into something more comfortable and dry. Elizabeth walks over to her window and looks out into the stormy night. She is mesmerized by the sound of the storm and lets herself go back to the day in her childhood when she learned about her gift.

She was thirteen years old and playing hide-n-seek with some neighborhood kids outside in her yard. She comes running around the side of her house and she sees her mother's beautiful garden destroyed and ruined.

There were broken flowers barely connected to their stems. Roots from the plants were kicked up and laying above ground instead of in it, and soil and dirt just scattered about. She could see shoe prints all through the soil and various colors of flower petals were scattered here and there. It was like someone had taken a handful of confetti and threw it in the air.

Elizabeth falls to her knees and begins to cry, her brown hair covering her face. She shoves her hands deep into the loosened soil, " No, no, no", and she continues to cry. Next to Elizabeth the garden was her mother's favorite place to be. Now all that was left was the broken art work, created by her mother's hands.

As the tears fell freely to the ground she turns to the kids and looks at them," How could you? Why didn't you watch where you were running?"

She turns back to the mess and closes her eyes, and just keeps crying. Elizabeth did not see what the other kids were seeing, right now, that is not until one of them screamed out in shock. She opens her eyes and stares in amazement. She could not explain what she was seeing, what her own eyes were witnessing . It was pure disbelief.

The garden was rebuilding itself. Petals were dancing and moving towards their buds and stems. The stems were rectifying themselves to stand tall. The soil and dirt was moving back to the holes it was kicked up from. It was beautifully amazing. It was watching a painting being done right in front of you with an invisible brush and hand.

Elizabeth yanks her hands out of the ground and stands up brushing the dirt off on her clothes. All of them were staring with wide shocked eyes at what they saw and not believing it at the same time. The garden was once again beautiful and bright, and untouched.

Jumping at a loud clap of thunder Elizabeth blinks her eyes and wipes the tears away. She turns back from the window and walks over to the bed. Climbing in and pulling the covers up to her chin, she clasps her hands together and says her prayers. Once done she closes her eyes so that sleep may find her and those memories follow her and become her dream.
